Appoint an EU Representative

EU Representative Services Under GDPR Article 27

Does your business operate in the EU — without being based there?

If your organisation is established outside the European Union but offers goods or services to EU residents, or monitors the behaviour of people in the EU, GDPR applies to you. Article 27 of the GDPR requires most such organisations to appoint a designated EU Representative.

We provide that service — acting as your formal EU Representative, so you can meet your legal obligations with confidence.

What is an EU Representative?

An EU Representative is a formally appointed contact point, based within the EU, who acts as the liaison between your organisation and EU data protection supervisory authorities and data subjects. Appointing an EU Representative is a legal requirement under Article 27 GDPR for organisations that:

  • are established outside the EU or EEA

  • process personal data of individuals in the EU

  • do so in connection with offering goods or services, or monitoring behaviour

Failure to appoint a Representative where required can result in regulatory fines of up to €10 million or 2% of global annual turnover — whichever is higher.

What We Do as Your EU Representative

When you appoint us, we:

  • Accept and handle correspondence from EU supervisory authorities (including the Data Protection Commission in Ireland) on your behalf

  • Serve as the point of contact for data subjects exercising their rights under GDPR (access, erasure, rectification, etc.)

  • Maintain a copy of your Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) as required under Article 30(1)

  • Provide you with timely notifications of any regulatory contact or data subject requests received

  • Support your ongoing GDPR compliance with practical, expert guidance

Why Choose Us?

We are a specialist data protection and regulatory compliance practice, based in Ireland — an EU member state and one of the most active data protection jurisdictions in Europe, home to the lead supervisory authorities for many global technology and services companies.

Our work spans GDPR compliance audits, data protection advisory, policy and documentation development, and regulatory training. Appointing us as your EU Representative gives you more than a mailbox — you get a compliance partner who understands the regulatory landscape.

  • SaaS and software providers targeting European markets
